We are Carla and Armando, the heart and soul behind Sunset Sailing Algarve. Our passion for the sea shapes every private boat tour we offer in the Algarve. From the very beginning, sailing has been more than a profession for us — it is a way of life.
After crossing the Atlantic aboard our rare Nautitech 475 catamaran, we returned to Faro. As a result, we decided to share our deep connection with the sea and our love for the Ria Formosa with those who value authentic and meaningful experiences.

How many guests can we welcome?
Our private catamaran tours can accommodate up to 14 guests comfortably. This capacity allows families, couples and small groups to enjoy a relaxed and spacious sailing experience in the Ria Formosa without sharing the boat with others.
Are food and drinks included?
Food and drinks are not included by default on our private boat tours. However, guests are welcome to bring their own refreshments, and during the tour we can stop at a local island restaurant. For groups of up to six guests, lunch on board can also be arranged upon request.
Can we customise a private event (corporate, wedding, special occasion)?
Yes, all our sailing experiences can be fully customised for private events such as corporate outings, birthdays, weddings or special celebrations. Routes, duration and onboard details can be adapted to create a personalised sailing experience in the Ria Formosa.
Is the tour cancelled in case of bad weather?
Safety is our top priority, so tours may be rescheduled or cancelled in case of unsafe weather or sea conditions. If this happens, we will contact you in advance to offer an alternative date or a full refund.
What is the cancellation/refund policy?
We are sorry if you have to cancel your reservation, however, from the moment Sunset Sailing makes the commitment with your booking and stops accepting other bookings for that day, the cancellation costs must be assumed by the customer.
Cancellation costs for the client depending on the advance notice in relation to the event date (private event):
30 days: 20% of the total amount;
29 to 15 days: 35% of the total amount;
14 to 8 days: 50% of the total amount;
< 7 days: 100% of the total amount.
Can we change the time of the tour?
For full-day private tours, the departure time can be adjusted depending on availability. This flexibility allows us to better match your schedule while ensuring the best sailing conditions in the Ria Formosa.
Where do the sailing tours depart from?
All private sailing tours depart from Faro, providing direct access to the Ria Formosa Natural Park and its islands, lagoons and calm coastal waters.
